Our History

Trained in London in the 1960’s using traditional Italian techniques and personally involved in the casting of major works by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Elizabeth Frink, and Lynn Chadwick, Peter emigrated to Australia and set up Meridian in South Melbourne. Almost fifty years later and with the help of a highly skilled and dedicated team of artists and artisans, Meridian strives to maintain a benchmark service for the Australian art and design industry.

Located in Fitzroy, Meridian’s clients include renowned Australian sculptors such as Robert Klippel, George Baldessin, Arthur Boyd, Brett Whiteley, Peter Corlett, Lisa Roet and Louise Paramour among many others. We are as frequently contracted to produce large-scale, high-concept public works as well as smaller works by emerging local talents, whether they be public memorials, architectural features, or 3D prints cast in bronze.

In recognition of the importance of our local arts community and the value that makers and artisans bring to us here at Meridian, we sponsor a number of annual prizes, publications and initiatives. We also open our doors to the public via our unique sculpture workshops.

Meridian prides itself on the quality and finish of its castings as the best in the industry, valuing lasting relationships with customers and suppliers, and operating a safe and responsible workplace.
