Furniture Restoration is a conservation and restoration business based in the Inner west of Sydney which is owned and run by Andy Botto.
Andy gained his qualifications in the UK before emigrating to Australia in the early 80s. Being involved in the antique furniture restoration business for so long, Andy has acquired a vast and unique skill set of specialist methods and techniques in the conservation, repair, and restoration of pieces from those of museum quality to those which are treasured family heirlooms.
Working in the Inner West provides us with an interesting and eclectic range of furniture from many periods and styles, as well as interesting objects.
Over the years of working in the craft, we have had the pleasure of dealing with many people who have entrusted us with a piece that is much more than just a piece of furniture, it is a priceless piece of family history.
Whilst taking into consideration the client’s expectations, it is very important as a conservator to guide and inform the client of the importance of maintaining the integrity and history of the antique piece. Thus ensuring that generations can enjoy the beauty and history of their personal family heirloom.
