MONDO’S a tradition since 1979

Having worked as a butcher in Australia since 1965, Vince Garreffa, a young man with a vision, decided to embrace the challenge and open his own butcher and grocery shop in 1979. Having found a location in Midland, Mondo Di Carne, or World of Meat when translated, was born.

Vince and his wife Anne worked long and hard to build the business from the ground up. Mondo Di Carne expanded rapidly, soon becoming known as Mondo’s, and established a firm reputation for providing the finest meat products.

Mondo’s expansion into wholesale began primarily to fill the void for chefs by supplying quality products to restaurants. This mission of “meeting the demands of our customers”, however great or small, set Mondo’s apart from its competition. 

Mondo’s retail store relocated to Inglewood in 1997 and is now seen as one of Perth’s most significant and celebrated gourmet Butcher & Grocer. 

Change is ongoing, but Mondo will continue its commitment to its customers in providing the best quality products and customer service standards.
