Dean has always had a passion for horses. At the age of 12, he got a part-time job and saved all of his money to buy his first pony. He became a qualified electrician but found that working full-time didn’t give him enough time to pursue what he loved most. He wanted to find a way to turn his passion and hobby into a way of life. He learned from some of the best harness people and horsemen in Australia and around the world and purchased two Percheron horses and a small carriage.
He founded Unique Carriage Hire in 1987 and soon booked his first wedding. This isn’t just a business for him; this is his way of life, and he has dedicated himself to taking care of his horses and providing the best possible service for his customers. He now has over 100 horses and a fleet of 9 carriages. He prides himself on breeding the best commercially trained harness horses and having the best carriages in Melbourne.
